Study Abroad in Turkey Scholarship Program for American Minority Students

The Turkish Coalition of America is pleased to award up to 100 scholarships per year for American minority students. These scholarships are awarded to eligible undergraduate and graduate level students who have been accepted to a university in Turkey or in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per student:
- $2,000 for a semester or year at a Turkish/TRNC university
- $1,000 for Turkish language studies at a Turkish/TRNC university
- $1,000 for summer programs lasting for more than 4 weeks at a Turkish/TNRC university
- $ 500 for summer programs lasting up to 4 weeks sponsored by US educational institutions or Turkish/TRNC universities
- $500 for university/college-sponsored study tours to Turkey or the TRNC
Eligibility:
Undergraduate or graduate students who fulfill the following criteria may apply:
- U.S. citizens of African-American, Hispanic/Latino or Native American ethnic origin
- Enrolled full-time, in good standing at an accredited U.S. college or university
- Must be accepted to a Study Abroad program, language program at a university in Turkey or the TRNC or to a university sponsored study to Turkey or the TRNC,
- Willing to share experiences in Turkey or the TRNC with the TCA community and Diversity Abroad
This scholarship program is administered by Diversity Abroad, an independent organization dedicated to increasing the participation of minority students in study abroad programs. Scholarship recipients are selected by Diversity Abroad and the Turkish Coalition of America and will receive their scholarships from the Turkish Coalition of America prior to departure to Turkey or the TRNC for the program they have applied for.
TCA and Diversity Abroad are not responsible for placing students at universities in Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Please note that TCA and Diversity Abroad are not responsible for finding housing, internships or other forms of financing for any student who is awarded a scholarship under this program.
