Under our commitment, the Turkish Coalition of America will match every donation made to the Ataturk Society of America for this special fundraising campaign. All donations made to the Ataturk Society for this campaign are tax deductive and all donations received for this fund will be given 100 percent to the Mehmetcik Foundation.

The Mehmetcik Foundation (Mehmetcik Vakfi) was established in 1982 in Turkey and has given over 82 million USD in aid to assist over 28,000 veterans and their families. TCA starts campaign for ACEV and ILKYAR

The Turkish Coalition of America has identified two Turkish charities for a matching donation drive. ACEV -- The Mother Child Education Foundation -- and ILKYAR -- Aid Foundation for Elementary Schools.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation toward this special campaign can send their donation via a check written to the Turkish Coalition of America and identify "ACEV" or "ILKYAR" in the reference section of their check. Each donated dollar to these two charities will be matched by a donation by TCA. All donations to TCA are tax-deductible.

The mission of ACEV is to make a lasting contribution to society and to improve the quality of life through education. In its two main areas of expertise, early childhood and adult education, ACEV develops and implements various training programs and projects in Turkey and abroad. The mission of ILKYAR is to create opportunities for students in rural and underdeveloped areas of Turkey and encourage them to finish school and pursue higher education. The focus of ILKYAR's projects are elementary level boarding schools, which are visited by ILKYAR volunteers and furnished with libraries, learning aids, toys etc. ILKYAR also organizes workshops for teachers and students in Ankara and Istanbul.
